Project 1
Breton Build started this project in May 2010, which was a complete
removal and then rebuild of the existing roof.
Firstly two new floor joists had to be fitted to support the new A
frames. They were constructed off site in our workshop, then moved
to site and fitted. Once the A frames were erected, the ridge and
the purlins could be fitted, the chevron and close board followed.

Because there was limited access to the rear, all materials had to
come over the front of the roof to the back. After all the timber
work was completed and the gable walls stabilized, the guttering and
slating could start.
There was an existing zinc valley gutter to the rear, which was repaired
and expansion joints fitted. Roof lights were installed in the rear.
The project was completed in July 2010.
